This role ensures program adherence to agency policy, CARF and DMHSAS standards, federal and state confidentiality rules, and special funding source requirements. The position supports a recovery-focused, welcoming, and trauma-informed service environment for individuals needing behavioral health and/or co-occurring services. It involves establishing professional working relationships, developing integrated service provisions, and working cohesively in a team setting. The Director oversees the clinical aspects of Intensive Services at both URC and outpatient levels, collaborating with other directors to ensure continuity and collaboration in Case Management/Care Coordination and group services. The role also assists the Clinical Director in developing and implementing program goals and outcome criteria, oversees grant management and proposals, and manages the program budget in coordination with the Finance Office. Program development and grant coordination for Intensive Services are directed in adherence with CCBHC regulations, with a focus on expanding and enhancing all programs. Input is provided to supervisors regarding the professional performance of clinical staff. The Director determines and approves staff training, consultation, education, and new staff orientation needs. They may also provide direct services and training in crisis diversion and intervention, including debriefing related to incidents. Establishing rapport with clients, assessing needs, organizing, planning, and delivering face-to-face services, and conducting follow-up are key responsibilities. The role oversees client transitions between service intensities and assists in developing individualized recovery plans. Maintaining strict confidentiality guidelines for consumer and family information is paramount. The Director is responsible for scheduling and supervising assigned staff, ensuring clinical record keeping and reporting procedures are followed, and that staff receive best practice trainings. Directing 24-hour staffing patterns and coverage for the URC is also a responsibility. The position utilizes Collaborative/Therapeutic Documentation to meet clinical record keeping standards, ensuring documentation is completed with the consumer to the extent possible and on the same day of service. Outreach and engagement efforts for clients and professionals at inpatient levels of care are directed to facilitate referrals and client participation. Building and maintaining good community relationships with Crisis Centers and Inpatient Hospitals, as well as other agencies and community partners, is essential. Staff timesheets, leave requests, schedules, travel, and performance are monitored and approved as appropriate. The Director will assist in providing new staff orientation and training, and core training for current staff. They ensure staff monitor eligibility status and assist clients in applying for benefits like Social Security, Title XIX or HMOs (Medicaid), QMB, and others. Ongoing knowledge of client treatment courses, needs, and special issues, including co-occurring services, is required. Outcome data is monitored to inform best practices for treatment, staffing, and budget adherence. The role may require on-call, evening, and/or weekend hours, providing services in community and hybrid inpatient settings (URC), and client transportation.
