Director of Intake and Client Acquisition

corviaconsulting•Los Angeles, CA
•$100,000 - $120,000

About The Position

This is a step-up opportunity for a proven high performer in a successful plaintiff personal injury intake operation who is ready to build and lead an intake department. A prior Director title is not required; candidates may have held roles such as Assistant or Associate Director of Intake, Intake Manager or Supervisor, Intake Team Lead or Shift Lead, or Senior Intake Specialist or Lead Closer. The position requires direct personal injury intake experience and personally converting prospective clients into retained clients. Transferable experience from other fields is not considered a substitute. There is no existing intake department and no one above this role to provide training. The Director will build the operation and train the intake team, drawing on experience with intake workflows, scripts, follow-up, call reviews, KPI reporting, case qualification, team leadership, systems, and lead-conversion data.

Requirements

  • At least three to five years of intake experience at a high-performing plaintiff personal injury or contingency-fee law firm, with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Documented success converting leads into signed retainers, with specific figures available for lead volume, contact rate, qualified-lead conversion rate, and speed-to-lead.
  • Direct experience handling intake calls and signing prospective clients, including callers comparing several firms.
  • Experience helping build, run, or improve an intake operation and explaining what worked and what did not.
  • Working knowledge of personal injury case screening, including liability, injuries and treatment, insurance coverage and policy limits, UM/UIM, conflict checks, statute-of-limitations awareness, and common case types such as auto, trucking, premises, and dog-bite claims.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or leading other intake specialists, formally or informally.
  • Hands-on experience with legal case-management or intake CRM platforms such as CasePeer or comparable systems, e-signature tools, and call and text platforms.
  • Ability to build and interpret funnel reports, identify lead losses, and recommend data-based changes.
  • Understanding that intake staff may not give legal advice and familiarity with professional-responsibility limits for law-firm intake and client communication.
  • Calm, empathetic, and persuasive communication skills with people who are injured, frightened, grieving, or upset.
  • Must already understand personal injury intake and have personally converted prospective clients into retained clients; equivalent or transferable experience from other fields is not a substitute.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience at a California personal injury firm.
  • Experience converting high-volume television and digital advertising leads, including leads from Walker Advertising or comparable legal-marketing sources.
  • Experience formally supervising an intake team or serving as second-in-command to a Director of Intake.
  • Experience transitioning a firm from an outsourced intake provider to an in-house intake department.
  • Experience identifying and escalating catastrophic and high-value cases.
  • Prior sales or business-development experience with measurable targets.

  • Build and interpret funnel reports, identify where leads are lost, and recommend changes based on the data.
