About The Position
The Director of Inpatient Services is responsible for managing, directing, and supervising assigned staff. Responsibilities include staff performance, recruitment, retention, and development; preparing staff schedules and other related documentation; overall operations of assigned nursing unit(s).
Requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing units.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Effective oral/written communication skills.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care.
- Current Illinois nursing licensure
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience
- Demonstrated administrative/supervisory competence
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree preferred
- PALS, ACLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certificate may be required
Responsibilities
- Ensure that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing unit(s), in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital.
- Ensure patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care.
- Other duties as assigned.
