About The Position

The IT Director ensures technology systems effectively support hotel operations, guest services, and administrative functions while maintaining compliance with Hotel standards, cybersecurity protocols, data privacy regulations, and PCI requirements. This role managers the hotel’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications, internet connectivity, hardware, software, and PMS, POS as well as guest service technologies.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years’ experience in first class, medium to large resort is desired.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of hotel technology system, network infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and hospitality applications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced hotel environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, work in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and have a high level of patience.
  • Knowledge of all hotel policies and procedures such as, but not limited to, room, food and beverage reservations, room assignment process, proper baggage handling, housekeeping methods, credit card policies and security practices.
  • Ability to communicate in English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts and maintain attendance in accordance with the hotel’s attendance policy.
  • Ability to comply with hotel rules and regulations including policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the resort’s network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable and high-performing connectivity across all operational and guest service areas.
  • Manage and support resort hardware systems, including servers, workstations, printers, mobile devices.
  • Consults daily with management to review current operational conditions, including but not limited to, completed and projected work, IT requirements, and other issues significant to the smooth operation of the IT Department.
  • Serve as the hotel’s subject matter expert for Oracle Micros POS system, including configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades and operational support.
  • Administer and support Oracle Opera Cloud to ensure seamless hotel operations and guest service functionality as well as Microsoft 365 applications, email systems, collaboration tools and security features.
  • Oversee PBX telephone systems, including programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory environments, including user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access controls.
  • Coordinate technology upgrades, preventive maintenance, and system implementations with internal departments and external vendors
  • Responds to critical technology outages and operational emergencies as needed to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Provide basic user level training on daily applications used, including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer related skills.
  • Prioritize, organize and manage multiple technology projects, service requests, and operational demands to ensure deadlines and business needs are consistently met.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues, managers, vendors, and guests regarding technical issues, project updates, system outages, and technology initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation, reports, procedures, and communications to support operational consistency and departmental efficiency.
