About The Position

Ohmstede Ltd. is seeking a Director of IT that will oversee enterprise-wide IT operations, infrastructure, and support services across multiple manufacturing facilities. This leader will manage IT teams, coordinate technology initiatives, and ensure reliable and secure systems that support production, logistics, quality, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing IT, a collaborative leadership style, and a strong vision for scaling technology across diverse industrial environments. Travel to remote sites in both Texas (Corpus Christi) and Louisiana (Sulphur/St Gabriel) will be expected and needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred), or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a management role supporting manufacturing operations across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies: ERP, MES, SCADA, industrial networks, and systems integration.
  • Strong experience in IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery.
  • Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and manage multi-site technology deployments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft .Net platform and GITHub as well as current development standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CISSP are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of IT functions across all manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure reliable IT services and infrastructure that support plant operations, production scheduling, and overall technical management.
  • Standardize systems, tools, and security protocols across facilities to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Lead implementation and support of enterprise systems such as ERP (Epicor), MES, and SCADA.
  • Partner with plant managers and operations teams to align IT with production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and develop IT staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, CMMC) and oversee cybersecurity efforts across the enterprise.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget and capital planning for multi-site needs.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and service-level agreements for software, hardware, and managed services.
  • Travel between sites regularly to ensure consistent service delivery and support local IT needs.
