About The Position

The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner to leadership, overseeing all HR functions to support talent acquisition, employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. This role ensures compliance with all applicable laws while advancing a trauma-informed and inclusive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or organizational management preferred with 5-7years of progressive HR experience.
  • Human Resources Professional (PHR), Strategic Human Resources Professional (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)or other organizational management certification is preferred.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check(Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse populations. Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in team structure.
  • Excellent oral& written communication skills including spelling and grammar skills.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership; contribute to organizational planning and goal execution.
  • Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Coordinates with Departments to define recruitment needs and timelines per agency budget and grantor/funder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements, including AA/EEO, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and CARF standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with organizational values and goals.
  • Lead talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Support leadership through coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and employee relations matters, including separations.
  • Manage HR operations, including HRIS, reporting, and benefits administration in collaboration with finance.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Lead workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR best practices and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
