About The Position

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the district's comprehensive human resources (HR) function. Develop, implement, and administer HR policies, programs, and practices that support the district's mission of educational excellence while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assignments include Benefits and Organizational Wellness, Employee Relations, Human Resources Operations, and Talent Management.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, educational leadership, business administration, or related field
  • Five (5) years of professional human resources work experience
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Colorado driver’s license
  • Diversity and equity training provided by the District after start of employment
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Intermediate knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate knowledge of employee relations, collective bargaining, and union negotiations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Board of Education (BOE), district, state and federal policies and regulations, including EEOC, Fair Labor Standards, ADA, workers’ compensation, and unemployment
  • Intermediate organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and programs that align with district goals while providing strategic HR guidance to the leadership team.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures that promote a positive, equitable work environment and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive personnel records and HR information systems while ensuring data privacy and security.
  • Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and guide strategic planning.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate HR department staff while establishing clear performance expectations.
  • Direct all aspects of talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning to meet district staffing needs.
  • Oversee performance management systems and professional development opportunities to enhance employee effectiveness.
  • Administer employee compensation and benefit programs, ensuring competitiveness, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Design and administer wellness initiatives that support employee health, work-life balance, and organizational productivity.
  • Manage the district's labor relations program, including collective bargaining processes, contract administration, and dispute resolution.
  • Oversee employee relations programs to foster engagement, boost morale, and address workplace concerns.
  • Develop and manage the HR department budget and resources to support district objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
