DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Copperleaf Golf Club is a premier private bundled golf community within The Brooks in Estero, Florida, known for its championship golf course, exceptional amenities, and strong, member-focused culture. Home to approximately 570 residences, the community offers an intimate, highly engaged membership that enjoys year-round golf, dining, fitness, and social activities. At the heart of Copperleaf is its 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Gordon G. Lewis and refreshed by Kipp Schulties in 2015, which is widely recognized for its outstanding conditions and enjoyable play for all skill levels. Golf remains the cornerstone of the Copperleaf lifestyle, supported by a full practice facility, professional instruction, and an active tournament program. In 2024, Copperleaf completed a transformative $20 million clubhouse and amenities renovation, creating a modern, upscale club experience while preserving the warm, welcoming atmosphere that has defined the community for more than two decades. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred or working towards.
  • Private club or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute human resource strategies aligned with the Club's mission, vision, and overall strategic goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership regarding workforce planning, retention, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and improve HR processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and orientation activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Club H-2B workforce program.
  • Partner with department leaders to attract and retain top talent.
  • Be a Champion for Employee Recognition, working hand in hand with the Employee Recognition & Retention Committee, focusing on transitioning the culture and pride our employees have at Copperleaf.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and service-oriented workplace culture.
  • Serve as an accessible and trusted resource for employees seeking assistance with insurance, benefits, and workplace concerns.
  • Conduct investigations regarding employee complaints and policy violations.
  • Assist in the annual staff orientation presentation for all employees in November.
  • Oversee all aspects of bi-weekly payroll processing through Paylocity, working alongside the Director of Finance.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and annual open enrollment for health insurance, wellness programs, along with retirement plans, and administrative leave programs.
  • Conduct compensation reviews and market analyses on an annual basis to help assist with annual raises.
  • Develop and prioritize a system to keep accurate payroll and personnel records for employees.
  • Maintain and constantly update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures for all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, EEOC), Workers’ Comp, I-9 & E-Verify.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on employment-related matters.
  • Along with maintaining accurate records for NDAs, and severance agreements.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews, manage unemployment claims, and FMLA or short/long-term disability leave.
  • Develop employee training and leadership programs, compliance, and harassment training and prevention, along with liaising with our Employee Safety Committee.
  • Work with Department Heads on performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and employee development.
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Coordinate OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Work with the Director of Finance on current Risk Management initiatives regarding employees.
  • Assist in the scheduling and recording of quarterly Safety Committee meetings.
