About The Position

As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead the HR function with the expectation of building on a strong foundation and continuing to raise the standard across the organization. This role is responsible for developing and executing Human Resources practices, strategies, and objectives that support an employee-oriented, high-performance culture built on empowerment, accountability, goal achievement, leadership development, and the recruitment and retention of a first-class workforce. This is not simply an administrative HR role. The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Team and Department Managers, providing leadership, guidance, and practical support on people-related matters across the business. The right candidate will bring the experience, confidence, and drive to lead the HR function at a high level, strengthen existing programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and help move the organization forward. The Director of Human Resources will have overall responsibility for the HR function throughout the company, including strategy development, policy and program execution, employee relations, compliance, talent development, recruiting, performance management, and the leadership of the Human Resources team. This individual must be capable of owning the seat, improving the function, and contributing as a strong business leader—not just maintaining what already exists.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a progressive HR leadership role supporting multi-shift/multi-location manufacturing environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar; Master’s degree preferred.
  • S/PHR or SHRM- S/CP certification a plus
  • Experience in strategy development and execution supporting a company’s overall growth strategy
  • Ability to provide leadership at all levels of the organization with confidence and conviction
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant labor laws, regulations, and policy development ensuring legal compliance
  • Passionate about cultivating culture and leading change
  • Proven results with facilitation of professional development, training, and certification activities for all employee levels
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time to provide in-person support to all locations

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees, leaders, and the Executive Team by providing sound guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, coaching, counseling, and decision-making.
  • Act with managerial courage by addressing difficult issues directly, professionally, and consistently while protecting the best interests of both employees and the business.
  • Build, lead, and continuously improve career development, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Strengthen employee culture by proactively identifying concerns, resolving issues, building trust, and creating strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Provide leadership coaching, training, and accountability support to help managers become stronger, more effective people leaders.
  • Lead the organization’s staffing strategy, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention efforts.
  • Own performance management processes by coaching leaders through goal setting, feedback, counseling, development planning, performance reviews, and accountability conversations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align HR strategy with operational needs, business goals, safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing HR team that delivers excellent service, follows through, and contributes meaningfully to the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR systems, policies, processes, communication, and employee experience while ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • This role is for a hands-on HR leader who can operate strategically, execute consistently, and maintain the high standard of the HR function across the organization.
