About The Position

The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and hands-on people leader responsible for building and scaling the human capital infrastructure of a growing, independent wealth management firm. This individual owns the full employee lifecycle - from talent acquisition and onboarding through performance management, learning & development, M&A integration, and intern programming. Operating as a key stakeholder in the organization, this role requires equal parts, strategic vision and operational execution in a fast-moving, relationship-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of HR, talent, or people operations experience
  • Demonstrated track record of building people programs from the ground up in a mid-sized, growth-oriented organization.
  • Experience supporting or leading HR workstreams in M&A or organizational integration scenarios.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and performance management platforms (Lattice or comparable tools).
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across a lean team.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification a plus.
  • prior experience in financial services or wealth management strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of a structured onboarding program for all new hires, coordinating across departments, maintaining onboarding documentation, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality integration experience through defined milestones and regular check-ins.
  • Drive talent acquisition and workforce planning by partnering with hiring managers to anticipate staffing needs, managing recruiting processes, cultivating an early-career talent pipeline, and developing job descriptions and career frameworks that align with the firm’s growth strategy.
  • Oversee the firm’s performance management program, facilitating goal-setting, semi-annual reviews, and continuous feedback cycles, while developing educational content and coaching resources to strengthen manager effectiveness and support a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with leadership to support human capital workstreams related to M&A activity, including conducting people-focused due diligence, advising on organizational design, and ensuring smooth transitions for incoming employees through proactive communication and post-close support.
  • Manage the firm’s internship program, including curriculum development, project design, and day-to-day program operations, while leading employee engagement initiatives that strengthen firm culture and serving as a reliable HR resource for staff across all levels of the organization.
