About The Position

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital, a 146-bed facility providing psychiatric services to the Philadelphia area for over 40 years, is seeking a Human Resources Director to join its leadership team. This role involves professional-level planning, reporting, and analysis to support organizational goals. The Director will resolve conflicts to protect company assets, provide expertise to management, and ensure HR activities comply with State and Federal laws, licensing and accreditation bodies, facility contracts, and collective bargaining agreements. Key responsibilities include overseeing all HR functions such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training/orientation, labor & employee relations, workers’ compensation, HR compliance, and maintaining personnel records in both files and the HRIS system. The position is with Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a large healthcare management company with over 90,000 employees nationwide, known for its responsive management style and commitment to integrity, competence, and compassion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • 3 years HR management experience required.
  • Experience with complex collective bargaining agreements and labor relations required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Understanding of Federal and State employment laws and regulations related to HR.
  • Working knowledge of administering wage/salary programs, benefits, workers compensation, recruiting/retention plans, training/staff development, and employee relations.
  • Requires leadership, organizational, supervisory and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of various software, internet based HR systems and email.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of HR management in healthcare preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional level planning, reporting and analysis to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Resolves conflicts to protect the organization’s assets.
  • Provides expertise and recommendations to support management decisions.
  • Ensures HR activities are in compliance with State and Federal laws, licensing and accreditation bodies, facility contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
