About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Housing and Support Services (DHSS) is responsible for the development and oversight of Threshold’s continuum of programs and services. The DHSS works with Program Managers to strengthen program quality and outcomes by bringing forward promising and leading practices that meet the needs of youth in our community and align with the Strategic Plan. The DHSS collaborates with the Leadership Team to ensure organizational operations meet the needs of youth, staff, and the community, while maintaining alignment with the vision, mission, and values of Threshold Housing Society. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The salary range is $81,900 - $108,615 per year dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human services or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and significant related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant leadership experience in non-profits, social services, housing, or youth-serving organizations.
  • Experience overseeing multiple programs or service sites.
  • Strong understanding of youth homelessness, supportive housing models, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and prevention-focused approaches.
  • Proven track record of building partnerships and collaboration.
  • Successful track record of writing grant and funding applications.
  • Experience utilizing data and statistics to evaluate program effectiveness, interpret trends, and adjust strategy to improve outcomes.
  • Experience managing and motivating a diverse, cross-functional, high-performance team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks and funding environments in the housing/social services sector.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Up-to-date membership in a relevant professional association or society
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance (business level)
  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check completed by and satisfactory to Threshold, and subject to regular review
  • Sign and abide by Threshold’s Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Health & Safety Manual
  • Follow Threshold Housing Society’s policies and procedures

  • Experience working with Indigenous youth and families and an understanding of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma is an asset.
