About The Position

Hilton Chicago, a magnificent landmark overlooking Grant Park, Lake Michigan, and Museum Campus, is seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping. This iconic, full-service convention hotel with 1,544 guest rooms is home to over 800 team members and fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and growth. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a large hotel, with a passion for guest service, cleanliness standards, and developing others. This role requires proven leadership in managing Housekeeping operations, driving guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and departmental excellence. Experience managing large inventories, vendor partnerships, and budgets is essential, as is a collaborative approach to working with Front Office and Engineering. A genuine passion for developing and empowering team members, including a large union workforce, is crucial. OnQ experience is highly desired, and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • At least five years of experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a big box hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms in accordance with federal, local and company health, sanitation and safety standards.
  • Lead, direct and administer all Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, of systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, inventory control, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Participate in the coordination of rehabilitation and capital improvement projects in partnership with Property Operations and other departments.
  • Recruit, interview and train team members.
