Requirements

  • Ability to handle a high amount of stress due to full responsibility and accountability for Habitat Greensboro operations in this position.
  • Must convey a professional and positive image and attitude regarding Habitat Greensboro and Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) to internal staff and externally to all stakeholders at all times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Habitat Greensboro.
  • Promote an environment where staff, volunteers, and homeowner safety is a high priority.
  • Oversight and management of the Homeowner Services department and staff.
  • Keep informed of innovation, trends and best practices and regularly initiate and implement creative practices and programs to achieve greater operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify the department’s needs (staffing, equipment, contractors, etc.), the resources to meet those needs, and be accountable for planning, monitoring and directing the department’s budget.
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate and foster professional development of departmental staff.
  • Assist with homebuyer marketing and recruitment.
  • Direct homeowner qualification and approval process.
  • Ensure compliance with Mortgage Procedures and Regulations and Fair Housing and Privacy laws.
  • Assist with maintaining Habitat Greensboro’s property portfolio management including current home plan with estimated purchase price property listings, and data needed for pipeline to ensure timely house closings.
  • Direct pre-and post-purchase homeowner preparedness program.
  • Complete annual review of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Create opportunities for homebuyers to participate in ongoing sweat equity.
  • Coordinate with Director of Construction and Land Development to ensure efficient house production.
  • Manage current grant programs.
  • Provide foreclosure coordination.
  • Ensure community outreach events occur annually.
  • Prepare and present the required reports to the Homeowner Services Committee.
  • Annual review of departmental policies and procedures.
