About The Position

The Director of HIV Services leads the HIV Services division in managing and supporting the assessment and program delivery based on the patient’s needs. The Director of HIV Services is responsible for the overall administration of more than 25 grants within LA and Orange Counties, as well as meeting contractual requirements aligned with AltaMed’s mission, vision, core values, and strategic plan. The Director of HIV Services develops, monitors, and implements the Quality Improvement program responsible for core service functions under the direction of the AVP, Regional Clinic Administration, and in collaboration with the Medical Director of HIV Services. This role works cohesively with Clinic Operations to ensure smooth administration of HIV Services delivery and interdepartmental referrals. In addition, the Director of HIV Services is responsible for clinic operations in HIV and Infectious Disease specialty clinics, directly overseeing the front office, HIV service clinic operations, and prevention programs. Other core functions include providing mental health services, home care services, and case management. Furthermore, the Director manages and provides overall leadership, direction, and development for HIV/AIDS prevention programming & HIV-related health services, responsible for direct planning in the day-to-day operations of each function, as well as collaborates with the communications department on HIV Services’ marketing and social media strategy. Lastly, the Director of HIV Services designs and develops new programs and advocates for legislative changes for those with HIV, as well as develops, maintains, and expands collaborative efforts with multiple community agencies that provide these services; supports pharmacy integration within AltaMed and oversees managed care, grant budgeting, and implementation.

Requirements

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university program in social work (MSW, LCSW), public health, Health Administration, Nursing (RN), or other related health or social science field.
Minimum of 10 years of public health experience.
Minimum of 8 years in managerial and/or supervisory experience in a health or social services setting.
At least half of the managerial/supervisory experience must be in health promotion and education services.
Working experience with government and private sector entities.
Prior experience managing grants and contracts.

Responsibilities

Manage and support the assessment and program delivery based on patient needs within the HIV Services division.
Oversee the administration of over 25 grants in LA and Orange Counties, ensuring contractual requirements are met.
Develop, monitor, and implement the Quality Improvement program for core service functions.
Ensure smooth administration of HIV Services delivery and interdepartmental referrals in collaboration with Clinic Operations.
Oversee clinic operations in HIV and Infectious Disease specialty clinics, including front office, HIV service clinic operations, and prevention programs.
Provide leadership, direction, and development for HIV/AIDS prevention programming and HIV-related health services.
Plan day-to-day operations for HIV Services functions.
Collaborate with the communications department on HIV Services’ marketing and social media strategy.
