Director of Growth Marketing

SequencingUnited States,

About The Position

Sequencing is looking for an exceptional Director of Growth to lead and scale an already substantial, multimillion-dollar performance marketing engine – and to discover and build what comes next. This is a hands-on, player-coach role for a growth leader who wants ownership over strategy and results. You’ll personally analyze performance, uncover opportunities others miss, test and unlock new channels, create repeatable growth systems, and continually raise the ceiling on what our business can achieve. The challenge isn’t simply spending more – it’s determining how, where, and when to scale while protecting customer quality, payback, and long-term value. If you're energized by solving hard growth problems, thrive in environments where there isn't already a playbook, and want to help scale technology that can genuinely improve millions of lives, we'd love to meet you.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience scaling performance marketing for consumer technology, subscription, marketplace, SaaS, DTC, or another high-growth business.
  • Proven experience managing and scaling substantial paid budgets across channels, accountable for CAC, payback, LTV, and contribution margin.
  • You have adapted and built new growth playbooks as channels matured, competition increased, and traditional tactics became less effective.
  • You are a highly accountable player-coach. You set the strategy, take ownership of outcomes, and stay close to the work—personally investigating performance, evaluating creative, and launching experiments.
  • You are a solutions-oriented. You prioritize what matters, move quickly, and are equally comfortable leading and executing in a fast-moving environment.
  • You are a strong creative partner. You turn performance insights into concepts, messaging, and tests alongside creative teams.
  • You do not accept surface-level explanations or rely on dashboards alone. You investigate until you understand why performance changed and what to do next.
  • You’re relentlessly curious and you use data to form hypotheses, design experiments, make decisions quickly, and scale what works.
  • You have strong command of experimentation, attribution, incrementality, funnel analysis, cohort performance, and unit economics — you dig past dashboards to understand why performance changed.
  • You use AI daily to analyze data, accelerate testing, and produce more with a lean team, and you know where it creates real leverage versus where human judgment matters most.
  • You use AI to materially increase what a lean growth team can accomplish—accelerating analysis, experimentation, creative development, and execution without requiring additional resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on strategy and execution across Meta and Google — campaign structure, audience strategy, bidding, creative testing, and ongoing optimization of a significant budget.
  • Continually identify, validate, and scale new growth opportunities across paid, organic, partnerships, lifecycle, creator, referral, SEO, answer engine optimization, and emerging acquisition channels.
  • Build repeatable growth systems rather than relying on a single winning channel.
  • Own customer acquisition with accountability for CAC, LTV, payback period, contribution margin, retention, and long-term customer value.
  • Determine when and where additional marketing investment generates attractive returns and where performance begins to deteriorate.
  • Balance aggressive growth with disciplined capital allocation.
  • Stay close to the work every day. Dive into campaign performance, creative, landing pages, customer journeys, attribution, analytics, and experimentation.
  • Work side by side with the team to launch campaigns, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and accelerate execution.
  • Improve the systems, reporting, and operating rhythms needed to run a sophisticated growth function without a large team.
