Tennr•New York, NY
•$170,000 - $210,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Director of Growth Marketing will own Tennr’s plan for generating pipeline, including investment priorities, channel strategy, and how performance is measured. Tennr sells products such as referral intake, prior authorization, AI voice, and patient onboarding to provider organizations including DME suppliers, infusion centers, and specialty pharmacies. The role focuses on selecting the highest-impact growth opportunities across products, verticals, and channels and ensuring the team executes against them. The Director will lead Growth Marketing and work closely with Sales, Product, and Finance. They will set targets, translate them into operating milestones, and run the accountability cadence. The role combines strategy, analysis, systems building, and partnership with Sales, and its scope is expected to expand as Tennr grows. The Director will lead Growth Marketing across paid, search, AEO, and direct programs; remain hands-on; and hire and develop the team as it scales.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience combining strategy work (management consulting at MBB or similar, investment banking, or private equity) with at least 3 years at a high-growth startup in strategy, business operations, growth, or revenue operations.
  • At least 1 year personally owning a business outcome such as a P&L, quota, pipeline, or retention number.
  • Ability to break ambiguous problems into meaningful outcomes and drivers and develop practical plans.
  • Quantitative fluency, including building models and writing SQL, and ability to use imperfect data to identify performance gaps, make tradeoffs, and evaluate strategy.
  • Ability to move between setting direction and hands-on execution while managing multiple workstreams and details.
  • Experience delivering high-stakes programs with hard dates, outside partners, and fixed budgets, including planning in advance of launch.
  • Ability to represent Tennr with senior operators and customers and earn their trust.
  • Ability to create clarity, accountability, and decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ownership of outcomes and follow-through; experience rebuilding a playbook from first principles.
  • Clear writing skills, including presenting recommendations, reasoning, and tradeoffs concisely.
  • Ability to discuss growth plans and bets built and explain their effect on pipeline.
  • An informed view of AI supported by real examples of applying it to personal or team workflows, with an understanding of where it is and is not useful.
  • Experience managing people or a track record demonstrating readiness to build and lead a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a vertical SaaS company selling to operators rather than software buyers.
  • Experience building a customer community or advisory board.
  • Experience taking a new product or vertical to market.
  • Experience building go-to-market workflows in Clay, Salesforce, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the model explaining pipeline drivers and ensure progress is measured consistently each week.
  • Diagnose growth opportunities and constraints across verticals, products, and channels, then determine and defend investment and deprioritization decisions with data.
  • Translate the growth roadmap into initiatives with owners, success metrics, budgets, and headcount.
  • Run annual and quarterly Growth planning, allocate budget across channels including direct programs, and partner with Finance on spend and payback.
  • Design operating cadences, dashboards, and decision forums that surface performance gaps and drive action.
  • Partner with Sales on pipeline reviews, maintain clean conversion signals from first touch through closed deal, and make changes directly in systems of record.
  • Lead strategic growth projects, including decisions about entering new verticals, launching products, and positioning against competitors.
  • Own direct programs that put Tennr in front of buyers and customers, selecting investments, managing fixed budgets and dates, and measuring them against pipeline standards.
  • Set standards for experimentation across new channels, AI tools, and Clay workflows; fund and scale successful experiments and discontinue those that do not justify their spend.
  • Lead Growth Marketing across paid, search, AEO, and direct programs; hire and develop the team while remaining hands-on.
  • Coordinate with Sales on target segments and pipeline, Content Marketing on offers, Brand and Design on creative, Product on launches, and Finance on budget.
  • Create clarity, establish accountability, and drive decisions across teams outside the role's direct management.
