Director of Go-to-Market Engineering

PerkChicago, IL
$190,000 - $240,000Hybrid

About The Position

Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is seeking its first Director of Go-to-Market Engineering to lead and build automated systems within its revenue organization. This role involves owning the end-to-end GTM Engineering function, including tool selection, architecture, development, and ensuring these systems support revenue goals. The position reports to the VP of Revenue Operations, leads a senior team across Europe and North America, and collaborates with SDR, Account Executive, and Account Management teams on high-impact projects. This is a player-coach role requiring hands-on building in tools like Clay, alongside guiding and mentoring the team. A key aspect of the role is the commercial acumen to understand sales challenges and translate them into technical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Deep background across Revenue Operations, GTM Engineering, Sales Systems, Growth Engineering, or an adjacent technical commercial function in B2B SaaS.
  • Proven track record in GTM Engineering with delivery at real scale, supporting hundreds of sellers.
  • Experience as both a builder and a leader.
  • Clay expertise in production, including complex tables, waterfall enrichment, webhook integrations, and AI column logic.
  • Deep Salesforce fluency, understanding the data model, integration patterns, and constraints.
  • Working proficiency in code: Python, SQL, SOQL, TypeScript, or equivalent.
  • Architecture instincts for building for scale, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Depth across several layers of the modern GTM stack: enrichment and data (e.g., Apollo, Clearbit, ZoomInfo, Cognism, PredictLeads), signal and intent (e.g., 6sense, Bombora, UserGems), sequencing (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft), orchestration (e.g., n8n, Make, Workato), data infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery), and LLM and agent tooling.
  • Commercial instinct: judging work by its impact on commercial metrics.
  • Credibility with Sales leaders to scope the right builds and identify when automation is not the right answer.
  • Understanding of the funnel end-to-end: TAM, ICP, pipeline generation, conversion, expansion, and underlying economics.

Nice To Haves

  • Having stood up a GTM engineering function at a high-growth SaaS business, ideally above $100M ARR.
  • Experience taking an automation program from pilot to global production, including lessons learned from challenges.
  • Multi-region GTM experience across EMEA and North America.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and the stack for GTM Engineering.
  • Define Perk's GTM engineering architecture, integrating CRM, enrichment, signal, sequencing, orchestration, and data layers.
  • Make tooling decisions, including adoption, consolidation, and retirement of tools, justifying their ROI.
  • Set the roadmap in collaboration with the VP of Revenue Operations, Sales leadership, and Revenue Systems and Data teams.
  • Establish team building standards, including version control, documentation, testing, and rollback procedures.
  • Design and build in Clay, including tables, waterfall enrichment, AI columns, webhooks, and API integrations.
  • Own the orchestration layer, defining the logic for workflow entry, timing, and criteria.
  • Build agentic workflows using LLM and agent tooling to automate research, qualification, summarization, and data entry.
  • Write code in Python, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript as needed for the job.
  • Automate account prospecting globally, including TAM sourcing, enrichment, ICP and intent scoring, prioritization, and distribution.
  • Automate tasks for Account Executives, such as CRM autofill, quoting, meeting preparation, opportunity hygiene, and first outbounds.
  • Build account intelligence for Account Management, including risk signals, whitespace identification, and account planning.
  • Take projects from prototype to production, ensuring proper instrumentation and validation before scaling.
  • Translate commercial problems into technical architecture and technical output into recognized revenue impact.
  • Understand Perk's revenue goals and leverage AI capabilities to achieve them efficiently.
  • Drive clear and tangible commercial outcomes, quantifying the impact of reducing non-core activities for quota-carrying roles.
  • Lead and grow a small, senior team across Europe and North America.
  • Set clear ownership and review discipline for safe and fast shipping.
  • Grow the team's technical depth and commercial judgment.
