About The Position

Our client is seeking a hands-on Director of Global Information Technology to design, implement, secure, operate, and continuously improve the company's technology environment across its international organization. This is a technical leadership role with substantial direct execution responsibility: the Director will personally perform senior-level architecture, systems evaluation, configuration, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, security analysis, and incident response. The position is well suited to an accomplished senior IT manager, infrastructure leader, or security-focused technology professional who has remained technically current and is ready to assume Director-level responsibility. Our client is developing advanced nuclear energy solutions intended to deliver reliable, scalable, and carbon-free electricity for industrial and grid applications. Its international team brings together nuclear, engineering, commercial, regulatory, and project-development experience. The organization is focused on disciplined engineering, responsible execution, and the deployment of nuclear energy at meaningful scale. The Director of Global Information Technology will be both the accountable leader and the senior technical authority for the company's global IT environment. The role encompasses infrastructure, networks, identity, endpoints, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, business continuity, vendor management, and IT governance. This is not a position in which advanced technical work is routinely delegated. While the Director will guide and develop a capable international support team, the senior technical work belongs to the Director: independently evaluating technical and security findings, determining the appropriate response, executing material corrective actions, and verifying that systems and controls operate as intended. The role goes beyond establishing standards and overseeing execution; the Director implements and maintains the systems they design. This role is ideal for someone who: Is equally comfortable working directly in production systems and presenting to executive leadership. Wants broader organizational responsibility without giving up hands-on technical work. Has led teams while remaining a strong individual technical contributor. Wants to build and own a critical enterprise function at a company doing consequential work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of progressively responsible experience in infrastructure, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT, with recent hands-on technical responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to personally design, configure, implement, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain production systems, along with experience leading others while continuing to perform advanced technical work directly.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and security; enterprise identity and access management; Windows and Linux systems; network architecture, segmentation, firewalls, and secure remote access; endpoint management, patching, and protection; cloud and on-premises infrastructure; backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity; and vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response.
Experience implementing or materially improving a corporate cybersecurity program, and independently evaluating and managing technology or security providers.
Experience supporting multiple locations or an international organization, with the ability to work on-site in Dallas and travel internationally periodically.

Nice To Haves

Professional working proficiency in Spanish. Spanish is strongly preferred because the position requires frequent technical and operational collaboration with colleagues in Argentina.
Experience collaborating with technical and business teams in Argentina or Latin America.
Experience in nuclear energy, utilities, defense, aerospace, or another regulated or high-consequence industry, including familiarity with export-control or comparable information-handling frameworks.
Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, Microsoft, networking, or cloud credentials.

Responsibilities

Personally design, configure, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the company's technology infrastructure, covering identity, networks, endpoints, servers, enterprise applications, collaboration platforms, and data protection.
Evaluate systems, vendors, and architectural alternatives against security, reliability, scalability, cost, and regulatory requirements; review system health reports, alerts, and exception findings and take appropriate corrective action; and maintain effective processes for access management, onboarding and offboarding, patching, backups, recovery, and technical support.
Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing, and keep system and recovery documentation accurate and current.
Own and directly execute the company's corporate cybersecurity program.
Configure and maintain security controls across identity, endpoints, email, networks, servers, applications, cloud services, and remote access; personally review security alerts, vulnerability findings, logs, and external assessments; and lead investigations, remediation, and incident response from containment through recovery and corrective action.
Translate legal, regulatory, contractual, and information-protection requirements into practical technical controls, and maintain audit-ready documentation, risk assessments, and control evidence.
Guide and develop the company's international IT support team, most of whom are based in Argentina, while remaining personally accountable for critical technical and security outcomes.
Review and validate technical work performed by internal and external resources, select and manage technology and security providers while independently evaluating their recommendations, develop and manage the IT budget, licensing, and equipment lifecycle, and communicate material technology risks, incidents, and remediation plans to executive leadership.
