About The Position

The Director of Information Technology will lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, standardizing business applications, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization. This role involves assessing and communicating risks associated with IT investments, developing technology plans for various stakeholders, and approving, prioritizing, and controlling projects. The Director will also develop business case justifications, cost/benefit analyses, and manage hardware and software acquisition contracts. A key responsibility is directing the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan. The role requires significant knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and project management principles, with a focus on leadership in project governance and adherence to IT project management disciplines. The Director will ensure continuous delivery of IT services, manage IT budgets, and ensure adherence to laws and regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, and USAC, while staying current with IT industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles
  • Demonstrate leadership in project governance and adherence to key IT project management disciplines to maintain project timeliness and budget integrity

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, standardizing business applications, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments.
  • Develop and communicate technology plan to executive team, staff, partners, and customers for major application implementation or infrastructure migrations.
  • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scales. Act as the focal point for negotiation of significant IT contracts for hardware and software vendors.
  • Direct the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services.
  • Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensure the IT operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA), PCI, USAC.
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices.
  • Supervise the technical and data management staff and manage technically diverse, geographically dispersed information systems.
  • Analyze organizational and patient care systems and recommend automation where appropriate to increase productivity, improve management of patient care, and reduce costs.
  • Analyze informational needs and information work flow within each network and operations divisions.
  • Work with IT staff to develop and implement procedures for the efficient, secure exchange of data between technically diverse systems.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of new information systems and the upgrading of and integration of existing information systems.
  • Evaluate policies and procedures for collecting, retrieving, storing, and securing of data and recommend changes where appropriate.
  • Implement systems which collect and evaluate data and provide productivity and enterprise performance.
  • Develop and execute IT strategic plan.
