About The Position

Director of Food Services is to plan, develop and direct the activities/operations of the food service department. He/She is responsible for food service standards, policy and procedure, food service staff, equipment, systems and work areas, while providing high quality of food service for residents in a cost-effective manner. The Director of Food Services is responsible for decisions regarding food service activities, directs and consults with the Registered Dietician, and/or other resources as necessary and/or appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be a Certified Dietary Manager.
  • At least 3 years clinical nutrition/or food service experience.
  • Previous experience with MDS and Care Plans required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new software programs.
  • Must be free from contagious diseases and/or conditions which may be passed via food or food service.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with the long term care service management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements is desirable.
