About The Position

The San Francisco Giants are seeking a Director of Food and Beverage to provide day-to-day oversight of their relationship with their food and beverage partner, Diamond 58. This role involves stewarding sustainable financial growth, advancing premium development strategies, and fostering a robust hospitality service culture. Key responsibilities include evaluating Diamond 58's performance against shared goals, hospitality vision, and the concessionaire agreement; establishing and utilizing metrics to drive action and inform stakeholders; managing the food and beverage governance committee; reviewing and approving business strategy changes, budgets, and capital investment proposals; analyzing financial and fan experience data to identify risks and opportunities; collaborating with analytics partners to optimize data impact; facilitating strong relationships between Diamond 58 and Ballpark Operations for seamless execution and alignment on sustainability, safety, and maintenance; fostering relationships with other Giants departments like Partnerships and Marketing to meet broader organizational goals; conducting event walks to observe service and engage with stakeholders for improvement opportunities; providing leadership and thought partnership to Diamond 58 for optimizing staffing, service flow, and point-of-sale efficiency; and working with Diamond 58 and internal teams to implement strategic initiatives for guest satisfaction improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a cross-departmental context with strong systems for building trust and ensuring commitments are met.
  • Experience establishing systems that create order and accountability for external partners and vendors.
  • Experience managing a budget and reviewing financial statements with an eye toward larger/long-term goals and priorities for an operation.
  • Five to seven years of experience managing in a hospitality context with a meaningful connection to food and beverage and/or direct experience managing or overseeing a high-volume and/or premium food and beverage operation.
  • Two to five years of experience leading an operation in a high volume environment (e.g. a large entertainment venue, a convention center, a major hotel with significant event business, etc.).
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing goals and priorities for a complicated operation and managing the demands of internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills tracking and prioritizing tasks and connecting them to larger priorities and strategies.
  • Demonstrated skills analyzing strategic recommendations from a vendor, asking the right questions, and providing feedback.
  • Demonstrated skills tying goals/priorities to metrics and telling a story about performance rooted in metrics to drive decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the relationship with food and beverage partner, Diamond 58.

  • Support thoughtful decision-making regarding the food and beverage program.
  • Manage the food and beverage governance committee, keeping the group updated on program performance and facilitating decision-making.
  • Review and garner approval for business strategy changes, budgets, and capital investment proposals from Diamond 58.
  • Review financial and fan experience data and surface risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with Giants and Diamond 58 analytics partners to optimize data coverage across concessions, premium, and fan experience touchpoints.
  • Facilitate strong relationships between Diamond 58 and Ballpark Operations for seamless execution and alignment on sustainability, safety, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate strong relationships with other Giants departments, including Partnerships and Marketing, to ensure broader organizational goals are met.
  • Conduct event walks to observe service, engage with team members, guests, and partners to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and/or thought partnership for Diamond 58 to optimize staffing, service flow, and point-of-sale efficiency.
  • Implement strategic initiatives to improve guest satisfaction with Diamond 58 and internal teams.
