We are seeking a highly analytical Director of Finance to oversee and manage all accounting operations and financial planning while driving long-term financial strategy and profitability. This includes, but is not limited to, forecasting, budgeting, treasury, as well as ensuring the operational models are maintained. Our ideal candidate comes from the manufacturing industry, is hands-on at all levels, and has demonstrated leadership experience.

Requirements

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles (GAAP), laws, and best practices, along with advanced proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting
  • Attention to details with the ability to consistently provide relevant, accurate, and timely financial services and to partner on decision making
  • Strong experience working with ERP systems, reporting, auditing, and operational procedures
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • An analytical mind, coupled with excellent organizational and leadership skills, demonstrating outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Hire, train, and manage current and future team members (directly and indirectly).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field, required

Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally to prepare key financial performance metrics, highlighting key operating and commercial achievements, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk monthly, including comparisons to budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Manage and lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts, dashboards, and presentations for the leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Leverage data analytics to extract meaningful insights, enhance financial forecasting accuracy, and drive data-driven decision-making processes across departments.
  • Oversee all COGS reporting through comprehensive standard cost review and maintenance, effective and actionable variance analysis. Additionally, ensure accuracy and completeness of all bill of materials and cost inputs through hands-on interaction with operations.
  • Responsible for accurate inventory reporting and monthly reviews to ensure proper valuation and cash flow management.
  • Ensure the finance department adheres to all financial laws, and guidelines both current and emerging.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act proactively to ensure optimal financial health and influence long-term financial goals.
  • Preparing and managing all month end close activities with proper assessment of assets and liabilities.
  • Oversee auditing activities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, collaborating with external auditors when necessary. Additionally, Perform internal audits to ensure the Company’s accounting policies, procedures, controls, and data are effectively implemented, maintained, and monitored.
  • Lead, implement, and maintain the Company’s finance IT systems (ERP, e-commerce platform, payment processors, AP & expense management software), including ERP maintenance and decisions related to development of modules and reporting packages that will enable and support decision making.
