About The Position

Join the pre-opening team of NoMad Detroit as their Director of Finance. This role is responsible for overseeing, directing and administering all financial operations of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. NoMad Detroit redefines luxury lifestyle hospitality in the heart of Detroit at the iconic Michigan Central Station, anchoring the west side of the meticulously restored 30-acre tech and cultural hub. Expected to open in 2027, this first-of-its-kind U.S. property from NoMad and Hilton will bring 180 guestrooms and 30 suites to the previously unused upper floors, offering sweeping views of Corktown, downtown, and Canada. About the Property Blending historic grandeur with contemporary sophistication, the hotel will showcase NoMad’s signature restaurant and bar concepts within revitalized historic spaces and celebrate Detroit’s creative spirit through collaborations with local artists and makers. Guests will also enjoy curated wellness facilities and bespoke amenities, all capturing the city’s rich culture, design legacy, and vibrant future. Responsibilities

  • Direct and administer all financial operations of the hotel to include, but not limited to, asset protection, financial reporting, systems management, hotel-wide budget and forecasting, department management, and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Ensure compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Serve as financial advisor to hotel management and ownership
  • Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the hotel
  • Assist and counsel department heads in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability
  • Prepare annual plan, projections and budgets
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
