About The Position

The Director of Finance is a key member of the Hotel Leadership team, contributing to strategic and operational decisions for Four Seasons Jacksonville. This role is crucial for providing timely and accurate financial information and guidance to senior management and ownership. The Director ensures the hotel adheres to all local and corporate policies, procedures, and management agreements. A significant part of the role involves developing Finance staff to support the company's future growth.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience as a Director of Finance with Four Seasons or a similar organization preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of all jobs in the Accounting area.
• High degree of professional integrity.
• Ability to work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
• Commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.
• Minimum of BSC or BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safeguarding hotel assets and financial resources to maximize hotel profitability.
• Networking within the community to attract potential candidates and understand the competitive market.
• Assisting the General Manager in establishing policies, rules, internal controls, and safeguards.
• Consistently delivering the highest level of financial reporting and analysis, internal control compliance, and business management with integrity and accuracy.
• Ensuring bank accounts are opened with banks of strong financial standing, verified by local rating services if available.
• Preparing a comprehensive monthly report of the hotel's financial results in corporate formats and according to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Maintaining files on all contracts, leases, and agreements, ensuring compliance with their requirements and proper authorization for hotel-specific contracts.
• Ensuring compliance with all loan covenants and the accuracy of long-term debt balances.
• Closely monitoring and managing labor costs in compliance with applicable Employment Laws.
• Preparing forecasts and budgets as required by the corporate office, management agreements, or Residential governing documents.
