About The Position

This role serves as a key business manager, providing essential financial support, knowledge, and expertise to assist all levels of management in delivering high-quality hospitality services globally. The Director of Finance will support General Managers (GMs) in achieving business objectives, directing accounting and control functions at the property level, ensuring timely reporting of operational results, and maintaining the integrity of the management information system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Studies is required.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, current on technology expertise and know-how.
  • Excellent financial modeling, project management, and critical thinking skills with a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or CPA is a plus.
  • 2 to 3 years of Director level experience in hospitality finance is preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar accounting package, Outlook soft/BPC is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all accounting functions for the property.
  • Prepare financial documents within specified timeframes and according to company policies, GAAP, and the Uniform System of Accounts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results to advise GMs and the Home Office team.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet analysis with supporting details.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts and cash flow statements upon request.
  • Prepare timely and accurate sales, use, and occupancy tax returns, and other external reports.
  • Ensure successful treasury cash management and compliance with management agreements and legal documents.
  • Ensure the integrity and efficiency of computerized data processing functions.
  • Accurately compile and submit financial reports, budgets, and forecasts within specified time limits, identifying variances and recommending improvements.
  • Review forecasts and budgets to ensure they provide reasonable and achievable performance guidelines.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and security of legal, treasury, and tax documentation, and satisfy all statutory and fiscal reporting requirements.
  • Install and maintain adequate controls to protect property assets against loss or misappropriation.
  • Coach department heads on financial responsibilities and management techniques.
  • Continuously monitor economic, social, and governmental trends and policies to advise management on implications affecting hotel/restaurant performance and financial objectives.
