The Director of Finance is a key member of SwimRVA's senior leadership team, responsible for the financial health, compliance, and strategic financial planning of the organization. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director, bringing clarity and insight to complex financial decisions while upholding the integrity and mission of the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing nonprofit at a pivotal moment-SwimRVA is managing a multi-facility capital project, expanding programming partnerships throughout the region, supporting the aquatics industry with workforce development programming and hosting events on the national stage. The Director of Finance will help ensure the financial infrastructure keeps pace with that momentum.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial management experience with at least 2 years in a nonprofit environment
Demonstrated experience with fund accounting and nonprofit financial reporting standards (GAAP for nonprofits)
Strong proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks); comfort with financial reporting tools
Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Familiarity with capital project accounting and construction fund management
Background in recreation sports, health, or social services nonprofits
Experience with payroll systems and HR financial functions in a multi-site organization
