About The Position

The Director of Finance is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all financial functions for Windrose on Hudson. This executive leader oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, payroll oversight, compliance, and operational analysis while serving as a key member of the hotel’s Executive Committee. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality finance leader who can balance strategic financial planning with operational partnership, ensuring profitability, accuracy, compliance, and exceptional owner relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive hospitality finance/accounting leadership experience.
  • Prior hotel or resort Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with hotel PMS, POS, payroll, and accounting platforms preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence operational leaders and ownership groups.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury or lifestyle hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and finance operations for the property, including month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to develop and execute financial strategies that support operational goals and profitability.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to ownership and corporate leadership.
  • Analyze trends in revenue, labor, expenses, and market performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets, capital plans, and long-range forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll, cash handling, and general ledger functions.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard hotel assets.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and banking relationships.
  • Monitor insurance, licenses, permits, and contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with department leaders to drive financial accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Support revenue management initiatives through analysis of occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, labor productivity, and profitability metrics.
  • Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to improve cost controls and margin performance.
  • Participate in weekly forecasting, labor meetings, and business review discussions.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Foster a collaborative and service-oriented culture within the accounting department.
