About The Position

Legends Global is seeking a Director of Finance/Human Resource Designee to plan and direct all aspects of financial and accounting activities at the facility. This role also encompasses performing all aspects of Human Resource Operations, as well as administration and maintenance of all Facility Benefit Programs, consistent with Legends Global policies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and payroll, ensuring compliance with State and Federal law, and Legends Global policies and procedures. This position involves monitoring contract compliance, managing insurance coverage, reviewing contracts and settlements, overseeing cash flow and investments, and managing purchasing. A key part of the role includes developing and implementing financial reporting, including financial statements, budgets, and annual reports, and directing the maintenance of accounting records and ledgers. The Director will analyze financial performance, prepare cost analyses, and coordinate with external auditors. Additionally, the role involves participating in union labor contract administration and acting as Manager on Duty as required. On the HR side, the individual will ensure compliance with human resources policies, state regulations, and government reporting. This includes administering HR plans, performing recruitment activities, conducting new employee orientations, maintaining employee records, advising management on employee relations, and administering performance review and salary administration programs. The position carries supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, directing work, appraising performance, and resolving employee issues.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information required.
  • Effective supervisory skills
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting spreadsheets and word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and Legend Global policies and procedures.
  • Monitors Legends Global compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
  • Maintains contact with Legends Global’s Risk Management Department and Insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
  • Reviews all contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
  • Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
  • Reviews and executes all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.
  • Reviews all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies.
  • Develop and implement all financial reporting, including: Prepares financial statements for the Client and Legends Global Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, Annual Budget, and Annual Report.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Analyzes financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes to meet business goals.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.
  • Coordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's report.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Participates in union labor contract administration; maintains effective working relationship with union representatives.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty as required.
  • Follows Legends Global Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
  • Maintains compliance with state regulations concerning employment.
  • Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
  • Performs recruitment activities.
  • Writes and places advertisements.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Advises the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations problems.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review and salary administration program.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
