About The Position

Family & Children's Place is seeking a proactive and strategic Director of Facilities to oversee the maintenance, safety, functionality, and continuous improvement of agency facilities. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for facility operations, renovation and repair projects, vendor and contractor management, asset management, and emergency preparedness across multiple locations. The Director of Facilities serves as the agency’s primary facilities expert, ensuring our buildings provide safe, welcoming, and efficient environments for the children, families, staff, and community partners we serve. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing complex facility projects and vendor relationships while also addressing day-to-day building and operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in facilities management, building operations, project management, construction coordination, property management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing facility projects, contractors, vendors, and budgets.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between agency locations.

  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities and coordinating competing priorities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of facility operations, maintenance, safety, and building systems across multiple agency locations.
  • Lead renovation, repair, and capital improvement projects, including budgeting support, contractor coordination, and project oversight.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans and long-term facility improvement strategies.
  • Manage facility vendors, contractors, service agreements, and building-related procurement activities.
  • Oversee contracted custodial services to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and coordinate and perform repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Manage agency asset inventories, including technology equipment, furniture, and other organizational assets.
  • Support the coordination, deployment, tracking, replacement, and retrieval of laptops and technology equipment.
  • Support emergency preparedness, safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and annual facility inspections.
  • Serve as a key resource to leadership on facility planning, operational needs, and infrastructure improvements.
