About The Position

The Facilities Director is responsible for the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of all activities of the Facilities Department, IT Department, and Special Projects as designated by the General Manager. This role involves developing innovative and cost-effective solutions to drive efficiencies, improve guest experience, increase employee productivity, and grow revenues. The Director will oversee the plan, management, and execution of various initiatives, driving continuous improvement and leveraging corporate standards. They will also manage vendor relationships, seek cost reduction opportunities, and lead the development of IT/Facility plans, technical strategies, business continuity/disaster recovery, and budget plans.

Requirements

A minimum eight years in supervisory/managerial experience in IT, engineering, facility management or a related area.
Extensive experience in business analysis, business process improvement, technology insertion management and operational support, planning and budgeting required.
Effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Cross functional and project team experience.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with employees at all levels.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Developing innovative and cost-effective solutions which focus on driving efficiencies, improving guest experience, increasing employee productivity and growing revenues.
Overseeing the plan, management and execution.
Driving continuous improvement at property, seeking to leverage corporate standards or bringing up new ideas for review e.g. project development, consolidation, virtualization etc.
Driving vendor management and seek opportunities for cost reduction at property.
Leading the development of IT/Facility plans, technical strategies, business continuity/disaster recovery and budget plans as they relate to the property.
Maintaining the integrity of the facility including major mechanical systems, fire & life-safety equipment, grounds, parking, lighting systems, plumbing, kitchen equipment, electrical, controls and any other systems and equipment comprising the physical structure and appurtenant infrastructure.
Managing Facilities Department staff, including skilled trades (e.g. electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.) to maintain the property in a manner that ensures an optimal guest experience and long-term asset preservation.
Managing utility expenses and leading initiatives to maintain lowest possible costs through improved operational efficiencies and deployment of new technologies.
Developing work scope, soliciting bids, contractor selection and oversight of all 3rd party contractors that may be engaged in operations and/or maintenance activities at the facility.
Leading all strategies and initiatives for the casino’s Facilities Department.
Leading and/or supporting construction, renovation and preventative maintenance efforts.
Establishing a budget for expenses (both operating and capital) and operating within those guidelines.
Developing processes to ensure internal work orders are completed promptly and accurately.
Creating initiatives to improve the employee experience and employee opinion ratings.
Setting performance expectations and provides coaching, career development planning and operational support for all direct reports.
Monitoring all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls are adhered to and enforced.
Maintaining the Fire Emergency Organization Manual, and ensures that entire Facilities Team is trained in its implementation.
Ensuring implementation and audit of inventory and cost control systems and procedures.
Applying Lean principles/techniques (i.e. applies countermeasures for waste, conducts daily visual mgt. and supports kaizen events) to ensure quality and customer service is continuously improved in the context of facility operations.
Developing a strong working relationship with all department managers to ensure unity and consistent direction.
