About The Position

One of our main focuses is in developing practical and sustainable processes for the manufacture of drug substance to support both clinical phase research and commercial supply. In this role you will support efforts in Asymchem’s China-based Chemical Development group to develop and implement safe and reliable processes for manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates.

Requirements

PhD. in Chemistry
Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in the contract manufacturing industry (CDMO) or pharmaceutical industry developing API’s.
A thorough understanding of technology transfer and Good Manufacturing Practices is required.
Strong project management skills.

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in both development and manufacturing operations.
In addition to experience in small molecule API development and manufacturing, candidates with experience in continuous flow or large molecule/biologics process development are desirable.
CMC experience supporting IND and NDA submissions is desirable.
Bilingual English and Mandarin a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

The candidate must work in a team setting to assess factors important for successful scale up, including safety, reproducibility, economics, and environmental impact.
Utilizes advanced technologies such as biocatalysis and flow chemistry to advance these goals, and work closely with scientists within Asymchem engaged in developing these technologies.
Interacts routinely with customers, as well as auditors or other visitors as needed.
Experience with pricing models for technical work packages is desirable.
