About The Position

Icarus was founded on the belief that the Stratosphere is the Forgotten Frontier and that reclaiming it will define the next era of aerospace and what is possible from the sky. We build solar-powered aircraft that fly at 60,000 ft for weeks at a time, delivering persistent, affordable, and scalable presence from this layer of the atmosphere. Mission Re-establish and maintain dominance in the Stratosphere. What you’ll do Own every aspect of Icarus' physical infrastructure. Your job is simple: build and maintain an environment where engineers can focus entirely on building aircraft. You will: Own our facilities end to end, from daily operations to long-term expansion. Lead factory buildouts, renovations, and infrastructure projects. Design factory layouts that improve engineering and manufacturing velocity. Plan and execute equipment moves, machine installations, and production area expansions. Own utilities including electrical, HVAC, compressed air, networking, and other critical infrastructure. Manage contractors, vendors, construction projects, permits, and inspections. Develop long-term facility roadmaps as the company grows into new buildings and manufacturing capabilities. Own physical security, badge access, maintenance programs, and site reliability. Ensure our facilities are safe, organized, and always ready to support testing and production. Remove every physical bottleneck that slows engineers, technicians, and manufacturing. This is not a typical facilities job We don't think of facilities as a support function. At Icarus, the factory is one of our most important products. Every wall, machine, utility, workbench, production line, and square foot should make our engineers and technicians faster. Your mission is to build and continuously improve that environment. You'll work closely with the CEO and leaders across engineering, manufacturing, flight operations, and business operations to ensure our facilities never become the bottleneck. We move fast. We expect extreme ownership, sound judgment, and relentless execution. No tourists. No bystanders. Only builders.

Requirements

Experience leading facilities, factory infrastructure, manufacturing expansion, capital projects, or industrial construction.
Experience building or expanding manufacturing facilities from the ground up.
Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
Strong understanding of construction, utilities, mechanical systems, and industrial infrastructure.
Excellent project management and vendor management skills.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Self-directed with extreme ownership. You identify problems before anyone else and solve them without waiting to be asked.
Willing to spend time both behind a computer and walking the factory floor.

Nice To Haves

Aerospace, automotive, robotics, or advanced manufacturing experience.
Experience at SpaceX, Tesla, Anduril, Rivian, Amazon Robotics, or similar hardware companies.
Experience supporting rapid company growth and facility expansion.
