About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the facilities and transportation operations within Ionia Public Schools. The Director will ensure the efficient and safe management of school buildings, grounds, and transportation services, aligning with the district's strategic plan and core values. Key aspects include planning, organizing, and executing administrative tasks related to these areas, fostering a positive team culture, and demonstrating strong leadership.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Ability to obtain and maintain State of Michigan Wellworks System Operators Licence D-5 and S-5
Ability to obtain and maintain AHERA Operations/Maintenance Licence/Certificate
Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles regarding construction, maintenance, security, HVAC and grounds
Experience in a school transportation program, including knowledge of school bus traffic laws, mechanics, safety and routing
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with computers
Demonstrated ability as a leader through excellent communication skills and ability to create a positive team culture
Ability to plan, organize, and execute the full range of administrative tasks

Nice To Haves

Trade license in building or grounds trades
Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Facilities/Building Management
