About The Position

The Director of Facilities Maintenance leads the asset management function, overseeing customer accounts, asset performance, profitability, and long-term service objectives across multiple sites. This role provides strategic direction, reviews performance, guides capital planning, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex operational and customer issues.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of relevant industry experience, including a minimum of three years in a leadership role within asset management, facilities operations, O&M, energy infrastructure, property management, or a similar environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety with the ability to promote and uphold safety standards across the department.
  • Solid understanding of facility operations, asset management principles, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for business development and growth.
  • Experience managing financial performance, including P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly and quarterly projections.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, adapt to changing demands, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Directs portfolio-wide asset performance and facility operations, ensuring sites consistently meet service commitments, operational targets, and customer expectations.
  • Guides maintenance strategies, facility upgrades, and capital improvement initiatives with an emphasis on reliability, efficiency, cost control, and long-term value.
  • Evaluates operational data, financial performance, maintenance trends, and asset condition to uncover potential issues, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates long-term planning for facility operations, capital expenditures, staffing, and asset strategies across a diverse portfolio of customer locations.
  • Develops and maintains consistent processes, performance standards, and operating practices for asset management, maintenance programs, and facility reporting.
  • Acts as a high-level resource for Asset Managers and customers, providing direction on challenging facility issues, operational risks, capital needs, and opportunities to improve asset performance.
  • Collaborates with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain safe, dependable, and cost-effective operation of facilities and critical infrastructure while meeting applicable requirements.
  • Evaluates and authorizes asset and facility management initiatives focused on improving operational results, maximizing asset longevity, strengthening reliability, and delivering a high level of customer service.
