About The Position

Cathedral Middle and High School is seeking a Director of Facilities and Grounds. This role is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and oversight of all campus facilities, grounds, and physical plant operations. The Director ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports the school’s mission and daily operations, in partnership with the Principal and school leadership team.

Requirements

Demonstrated years of experience in facilities management, operations, or maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Heightened proficiency with technology, including email and facility-related systems.

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory and/or leadership experience.
Minnesota Class 1C License (or the ability to obtain within four years of hire).

Responsibilities

Serve as a collaborative member of the Principal’s leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
Provide overall direction and oversight of facilities operations, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and appearance.
Supervise facilities staff, contractors, and vendors to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus.
Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of buildings and equipment.
Lead facilities and capital improvement projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities and grounds.
Coordinate space planning, renovations, repairs, and campus improvements with school leadership.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate facilities staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Maintain and enhance campus landscaping to support a safe, attractive, park-like environment.
Build and maintain strong relationships through frequent, professional communication with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
Exhibit flexibility to support school needs, including frequent early mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel.

Engage in ongoing professional development and industry networking.
Perform other duties as assigned.
