About The Position

Cathedral Middle and High School is seeking a Director of Facilities and Grounds. This role is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and oversight of all campus facilities, grounds, and physical plant operations. The Director ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports the school’s mission and daily operations, in partnership with the Principal and school leadership team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated years of experience in facilities management, operations, or maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Heightened proficiency with technology, including email and facility-related systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Minnesota Class 1C License (or the ability to obtain within four years of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Principal’s leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide overall direction and oversight of facilities operations, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and appearance.
  • Supervise facilities staff, contractors, and vendors to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of buildings and equipment.
  • Lead facilities and capital improvement projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities and grounds.
  • Coordinate space planning, renovations, repairs, and campus improvements with school leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate facilities staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
  • Maintain and enhance campus landscaping to support a safe, attractive, park-like environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through frequent, professional communication with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Exhibit flexibility to support school needs, including frequent early mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel.
  • Model servant leadership aligned with the mission of Catholic Community Schools.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and industry networking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
