About The Position

The Director, Event Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events that align with the organization's strategic goals and enhance brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and attendee experience. This role oversees all aspects of event production--from concept and logistics to budgeting and execution--ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and return on investment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
  • 4--6 years of experience in event planning and execution, preferably in corporate, nonprofit, or agency environments.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with event management platforms (e.g., Cvent, Splash, Eventbrite, Asana, Bizzabo) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute a portfolio of events including conferences, client events, internal meetings, galas, product launches, and virtual events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, sales, operations, HR, executive leadership) to define event objectives and success metrics.
  • Conduct site visits, manage venue selection, and coordinate event timelines and workback schedules.
  • Oversee event logistics including catering, AV, décor, travel, permits, security, and guest services.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors, venues, and event partners.
  • Create and manage run-of-show documents, production schedules, and contingency plans.
  • Develop and manage detailed event budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and alignment with financial goals.
  • Track expenses, process invoices, and prepare post-event financial reports.
  • Supervise event staff, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during events, ensuring seamless execution and real-time problem-solving.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Gather attendee feedback and evaluate event success using surveys, KPIs, and ROI assessments.
  • Generate detailed event reports and recommend improvements for future events.
