About The Position

Lead districtwide strategies to advance student outcomes, strengthen school climate, and integrate inclusive and equitable practices into the core design and operation of organizational systems. Build staff capacity, align instructional and organizational practices, and embed equity-centered decision-making across all aspects of teaching, learning, and operations. Partner with schools and community stakeholders to strengthen authentic engagement—particularly with historically underrepresented groups—while ensuring coherence, accountability, and measurable progress. Serve as a member of AdCo to support cross-functional leadership and strategic alignment.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree in education administration, curriculum leadership, or similar field.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated leadership experience as a principal, district leader, or in an equivalent role in education administration or curriculum leadership.
  • Proven ability to engage, build relationships, and collaborate effectively with individuals across diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Proven experience designing and leading adult learning that facilitates meaningful dialogue on race, racial equity, intersectionality, and gender identity, and drives shifts in mindset and practice.
  • Demonstrates strategic management of budgets and effective supervision of staff, ensuring alignment of resources, accountability, and high-impact outcomes.
  • Demonstrated racial consciousness and cultural competence, with the skills, knowledge, and commitment to lead continuous improvement efforts that advance equitable outcomes.
  • Demonstrates skill with leading and sustaining culturally responsive and inclusive environments that drive improved experiences and outcomes for students, staff, and the broader community.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office technology and digital tools (e.g., phone systems, copiers, email platforms) to support efficient daily operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, communication, and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, curriculum, and instruction, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies that improve student outcomes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in culturally responsive education, including curriculum design, instructional practices, assessment, and systems that reflect and affirm racial, cultural, gender, and linguistic diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs aligned to District priorities to accelerate academic outcomes for all students, with a focused commitment to historically underserved students.
  • Advance equity-centered and culturally responsive instructional practices by embedding content, perspectives, and strategies that address and eliminate achievement disparities across all curricular areas; partner with District and school leaders to ensure consistent implementation and improved outcomes for all students.
  • Analyze and monitor District data to identify trends, measure progress, and address disparities; translate findings into actionable strategies and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with Central Administration, school and department leaders, and staff to build capacity in equity, cultural responsiveness, and racial literacy aligned to District priorities and instructional practices.
  • Engage and partner with students, families, and community stakeholders to elevate diverse perspectives, strengthen relationships, and enhance communication between the District and its communities.
  • Develop and maintain systems to strategically align and leverage District resources in support of equity, culture, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse and highly effective workforce.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent to develop and present annual reports to the Board of Education highlighting progress, outcomes, and priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
