About The Position

Hillcrest Highlands at Gretna is currently seeking a Director of Environmental Services to join our leadership team! The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for leading the maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, building operations, and grounds functions for Hillcrest Highlands at Gretna. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in keeping the community safe, clean, comfortable, and operating at a high standard for residents, team members, and visitors. At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: we enhance the lives of aging adults. This role plays a key part in that mission by ensuring our environment reflects the quality, care, and professionalism our residents deserve.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in an environmental services supervisory role.
  • At least one year of HVAC experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to remain flexible, calm, and professional in stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and complete repetitive sitting, bending, and standing movements.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Commitment to infection control standards, safety practices, and regulatory compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Experience with Life Safety Code and maintenance procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry programs.
  • Oversee building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, grounds, and facility repairs.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is scheduled, completed, and documented timely.
  • Maintain safe and proper operation of all mechanical equipment within the community.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage department budgets, payroll, expenditures, and operational goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise routine cleaning throughout the facility.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and facility needs, including grounds-related requests.
  • Utilize maintenance systems to manage physical assets, repairs, and work orders.
  • Maintain SDS sheets, chemical labeling, key control logs, and related safety documentation.
  • Partner with leadership and team members to support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
