Director of Enterprise Sales

About The Position

This is a ground-floor opportunity for a driven individual to own enterprise sales end-to-end at a small software company. The role involves building the enterprise sales motion from the ground up while closing deals. The title 'Director' reflects the need for experience and polish to engage with Fortune 1000 buyers, not immediate team management. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and closing direct enterprise deals, building their own pipeline, and developing the sales playbook. The product offered is a key differentiator, keeping all customer data on the user's device and never touching the cloud, which is crucial for security-conscious enterprise clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a self-directed environment and is motivated by the challenge of building a sales function and potentially leading a future sales organization.

Requirements

  • Personally closed six-figure enterprise deals. Repeatedly. Point to logos and numbers, not just “involvement.”
  • Know the enterprise motion cold — champions and economic buyers, security questionnaires, procurement gauntlets, mutual action plans, the works.
  • Exceptional in the room. Extremely professional, genuinely well-spoken, and credible with a CISO, a VP of IT, and a procurement lead in the same afternoon.
  • Move fast through slow environments. Know how to compress the gap between a nine-month close and an eighteen-month stall.
  • Completely comfortable being a team of one. No SDR feeding you leads. No marketing engine. No manager checking your pipeline daily. Self-directed.
  • Willing to carry a bag to earn the opportunity to build and lead something eventually.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close direct enterprise deals — full cycle, top to bottom.
  • Build your own pipeline.
  • Run your own discovery.
  • Navigate procurement and security reviews and legal redlines.
  • Multi-thread across stakeholders.
  • Carry deals across the line yourself.
  • Build the playbook as you go.

Benefits

  • On-target earnings are $280,000 (50% base, 50% commission), uncapped in year one.
  • Meaningful equity — you'll be building the go-to-market you get to own a piece of.
  • A first-year ramp structure so you're not living on zero while long deals mature.
  • Remote, US-based.
  • Founder who shows up for the deals that matter.
  • Product that wins on its merits.
  • Rare chance to define how an entire company goes to market — and to be paid like an owner when you do it well.
