About The Position

Manage the college's Correctional Education Program, which includes coordinating the recruiting, admissions, financial aid, enrollment, transfer, career, and re-entry processes. This includes establishing partnerships and providing direct service to incarcerated students. This position must maintain on-site office hours approximately three days per week at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) in West Liberty, Kentucky. Home base campus can be at any MCTC campus: Morehead, Maysville, Cynthiana, or Mount Sterling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Guidance Counseling, Student Personnel Services, Educational Administration, Education, or related field) OR equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Successful candidates must pass a drug screen and may be subject to additional mandatory training.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or higher, with relevant 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Microsoft office suite; Learning Management Systems (including Blackboard); Strong written & verbal communication skills; Program development and management; Financial aid processes & compliance; Academic advising & student support; Course scheduling & enrollment; Administrative tasks; Experience working with and willingness to work with incarcerated or justice-involved individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the college's Correctional Education Program, which includes coordinating the recruiting, admissions, financial aid, enrollment, transfer, career, and re-entry processes and providing direct service to incarcerated students
  • Work with Division Chairs to coordinate correctional educational course offerings each semester.
  • Provide on-site academic and student support to incarcerated students and faculty. This includes maintaining on-site office hours approximately three days per week at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC)
  • Assist the Chief Academic Officer in maintaining all applicable accreditation standards including MOAs, MOUs, and off-site visits
  • Assist the Financial Aid Office in completing federal and state reporting requirements and maintain required financial and student records.
  • Lead the development of course catalogs, promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, and/or online content
  • Establish and maintain relationships with correctional administration, reentry services, potential employers, transfer services, and other local organizations to provide support to students.
