About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and develop our company’s engineering organization, including software engineers, data engineers, and infrastructure/platform engineers. This role involves establishing strong engineering standards for system design, code quality, testing, and deployment, while fostering a culture that values both operational stability and thoughtful innovation. The Director will mentor engineers, help develop future technical leaders, and own the overall technical architecture of the company’s technology ecosystem, ensuring systems are designed for reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Key responsibilities include guiding architecture decisions across ERP systems, integrations, data platforms, and customer-facing applications, as well as evaluating new technologies and architectural patterns. The role also leads the technical strategy for ERP and core operational systems modernization, evaluating build vs. buy decisions and technology platform options, and ensuring clean integration with existing systems. Additionally, the Director will work closely with Product Managers to ensure engineering resources are focused on high-value initiatives, implement processes to improve predictability and delivery speed, and oversee development pipelines and release management. Ensuring the reliability and performance of core infrastructure, establishing monitoring and incident management processes, and maintaining strong cybersecurity practices are also crucial. The Director will collaborate with the Director of Technology and business leaders to align priorities and ensure technology solutions support business goals, clearly communicating technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Strong background in software engineering or systems architecture.
Experience leading engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.
Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP platforms and system integrations.
Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable infrastructure.
Proven ability to balance reliability and innovation in technology organizations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to business leaders.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Product Managers to ensure engineering resources are focused on the highest-value initiatives.
Ensure development work is well-scoped, well-estimated, and delivered on schedule.
Implement engineering processes that improve predictability, quality, and delivery speed.
Oversee development pipelines, release management, and operational readiness.
Ensure the reliability and performance of core infrastructure including servers, networking, cloud environments, and system integrations.
Establish monitoring, incident management, and operational response processes.
Ensure strong cybersecurity practices and system resiliency.
Partner with the Director of Technology to align engineering priorities with business needs.
Collaborate with business leaders to ensure technology solutions support operational goals.
Work closely with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Communicate technical tradeoffs and system constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
