About The Position

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering/Plant Ops to join their Team. The Director of Engineering/Plant Ops is a key member of the Palo Verde Senior Leadership team who supervises the plant ops staff and oversees the Environment Services and Food Services Departments. This position is also responsible for managing and organizing the operations of the facility including maintenance and grounds keeping while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, standards of government and regulatory agencies. This position also serves as the facility’s Safety Officer and serves on the Safety/Risk Management Committee. Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PVBH has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in Tucson, AZ, at the base of the Catalina Foothills, PVBH is minutes to Saguaro National Park and the University of Arizona.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience
  • At least 1 year of management experience
  • Experience with reading blueprints
  • Understand Life Safety Code and OSHA Regulations
  • Must be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to age groups, as well as job and/or program specific competency within the first three (3) months of training, and annually thereafter.
  • Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually, or chest x-ray every 4 years thereafter.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Class 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance
  • Must have a valid AZ Driver’s License.
