About The Position

This strategic leadership role focuses on shaping and enhancing the employee experience across all levels of the organization. The Director of Employee Experience & Culture will lead efforts to attract, develop, and retain top talent while maintaining a strong, mission-driven organizational culture. Operating in a hands-on, player-coach capacity, this role partners with executives and leaders to design scalable people programs that drive engagement, performance, and growth. The position oversees both the employee experience and talent acquisition functions, ensuring people strategies align with business priorities and long-term objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence organizational effectiveness, champion culture initiatives, and build a high-performing, collaborative workforce in a fast-growing environment. Ideal candidates are strategic thinkers with a passion for people, culture, and leadership development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in human resources, employee experience, talent acquisition, or related people leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and organizational initiatives.
  • Experience supporting a growing services, consulting, or government contracting organization, preferably within a small to mid-sized business.
  • Strong expertise in talent acquisition strategy, employee engagement, HR programs, and organizational development.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on, builder mentality and ability to implement scalable people programs.
  • Experience partnering with executives to influence business strategy through people initiatives.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms; experience with Paylocity preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the employee experience strategy across the full lifecycle, including onboarding, development, engagement, and retention.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on culture, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and talent initiatives.
  • Oversee the Employee Experience & Culture and Talent Acquisition functions, providing strategic direction while supporting execution of key programs.
  • Develop and implement scalable people programs, including career pathing, performance management, leadership development, and recognition initiatives.
  • Partner with managers across the organization to support employee relations, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Strengthen and measure organizational culture through engagement surveys, feedback mechanisms, and data-driven insights.
  • Guide talent acquisition strategy to ensure efficient, scalable recruiting processes and positive candidate experiences.
  • Oversee HR operations, policies, compliance, and systems to support a growing services organization.
  • Define and monitor key people metrics such as engagement, retention, recruiting effectiveness, and leadership development outcomes.
