About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for a high-volume Emergency Department. This role is responsible for driving patient throughput, quality outcomes, staff engagement, financial performance, and operational excellence while supporting continued departmental growth and service expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or approved equivalent education plan required.
  • Active RN License.
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Services leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency department operations, patient throughput, staffing, and quality management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large clinical teams.
  • Excellent communication, operational, and financial management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Emergency Department leadership experience.
  • Experience leading high-volume Emergency Departments.
  • Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, or similar specialty accreditation experience.
  • Strong background in performance improvement and patient experience initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Emergency Department and ensure exceptional patient care delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow, throughput, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and improve quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation standards, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Manage departmental budgets, operational expenses, and resource utilization.
  • Oversee staffing plans, productivity management, scheduling, and workforce optimization.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing emergency services staff.
  • Lead managers, supervisors, and clinical leaders to achieve departmental goals.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives, service line expansion, and operational improvements.
  • Analyze performance data and implement evidence-based process improvements.
