About The Position

The Director of Emergency Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a large, high-volume Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center. This leader is responsible for departmental operations, staffing, financial performance, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, patient experience, and service-line growth. The Director will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive stakeholders. Facility & Department Scope: 926-bed acute care hospital Level I Trauma Center Approximately 350 Emergency Department visits per day 100 Emergency Department beds Approximately 200 FTEs 4 direct-report managers Union environment Large emergency physician group partnership

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Room RN experience in an inpatient acute-care hospital setting.
Minimum of 3 years of trauma nursing leadership experience.
At least 3–5 years of qualifying Director-level or equivalent Emergency Department leadership experience strongly preferred.
Leadership experience within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Experience leading a large, high-volume Emergency Department comparable in size and complexity.
Strong hands-on knowledge of regulatory standards governing emergency services.
Demonstrated success leading quality, safety, throughput, operational, or patient-experience improvement initiatives.
Stable employment history.

Monitor operational and clinical performance using measurable KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement across quality, safety, throughput, and service outcomes.
