About The Position

Pelham Academy is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Pelham provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff. In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Requirements

  • Special Education Administrator certification or M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration.
  • At least 1 years of experience as a supervisor and administrator.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Pelham’s education department in hiring, supervising, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of related systems to support these tasks.
  • Work in tandem with Pelham’s Clinical, Nursing, Residential Department and Administrative team to provide a shared vision of supportive and enriching programmatic services and to maintain positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties.
  • Provide leadership as a meeting chair, public school liaison, and among others.
