About The Position

The Early Childhood Director seeks to advance and support the vision through by equipping others to teach the truth of Jesus to the next generation and by creating a nurturing environment where the next generation can develop their faith. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation of various programming arms of Early Childhood Ministry, recruiting and training volunteer teams, supporting staff in creating meaningful Sunday classes and experiences, and developing parent equipping experiences.

  • Experience in leading a team

Responsibilities

  • Equip others to teach the truth of Jesus to the next generation.
  • Create a nurturing environment where the next generation can develop their faith.
  • Be the face of the Early Childhood ministry to families and staff.
  • Serve as a resource for staff on programming for young children.
  • Develop Early Childhood Ministry Staff Team members.
  • Oversee the implementation of various programming arms of Early Childhood Ministry.
  • Recruit & train volunteer teams.
  • Support the Assistant Director of Early Childhood in creating meaningful Sunday Classes and experiences.
  • Support the Associate Director of Nursery in the oversight and implementation of Ministry Child Care.
  • Empower the Highland Kids Team in the oversight and implementation of Kid Care.
  • Develop, promote, and implement Parent Equipping experiences.
  • Partner with The Day School.
  • Create and maintain staff and volunteer structures.
  • Coach, train, and develop paid staff.
  • Equip paid staff to coach, train, and develop their teams.
  • Connect with new parents/visitors.
  • Respond to pastoral needs of families.
  • Connect with volunteers regularly.
  • Be a visible presence and connect with children and parents.
  • Be aware of other HP Pres programming and collaborate.
  • Support the creation of curriculum for Early Childhood needs.
  • Collaborate to provide a dynamic and scripturally rooted VBS.
  • Support the creation of a nursery environment.
  • Create and maintain environments that are child-focused and welcoming.
  • Provide Parent Equipping resources.
  • Provide other programming throughout the year that supports parents.
  • Develop and maintain a balanced budget.
  • Coach team members on budget & spending best practices.
  • Propose and write grant requests to The Woods Foundation.
  • Maintain accurate timecard approvals.
  • Create and maintain balanced workflow for the team.
  • Create healthy and balanced calendar/scheduling rhythms.
  • Partner with Facilities and Safety teams.
  • Partner with Discipleship Ministries to provide care for various Ministry events.
  • Support Pastor to Highland Kids as needed.
  • Motivate and empower the team.
  • Hold regularly scheduled team and 1:1 meetings.
  • Hold the team accountable to outcomes and workplace expectations.
  • Work with HR and supervisor in hiring and offboarding.
