About The Position

The University of Nebraska Foundation is seeking a Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship to serve as a trusted, strategic partner in strengthening donor relationships and showcasing the impact of their contributions. This role is crucial in enabling the University of Nebraska to change and save lives through growing relationships and resources. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a non-profit environment, preferably in donor relations, development, finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Organizational skills with keen attention to detail, deadlines, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated success in working efficiently with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel and data management.
  • Discretion in handling and navigating confidential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve the process for providing meaningful updates to scholarship donors about the students their gifts support, incorporating creative recognition methods.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the foundation and university scholarship and financial aid offices on each campus, leading monthly coordination meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and modernize donor impact report creation and delivery, including supporting the rollout of a new digital reporting tool.
  • Create personalized, accurate, relevant, and timely reports for donors summarizing how their donations are used.
  • Partner with internal teams to review fund agreements and verify the accuracy of annual financial reporting for those funds.
  • Supervise and mentor one student intern, managing their workload and providing training and professional development guidance.
