About The Position

The Director, Diversion and Specialty Services provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for behavioral health diversion, specialty and family court, and forensic behavioral health services across Centerstone’s Florida market. This position oversees assigned service lines through program managers and is responsible for program performance, financial stewardship, compliance, community partnerships, and the development and expansion of assigned service lines.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution. A combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education, where permitted by regulation.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in diversion, specialty court, family court, forensic, or related behavioral health program operations, including supervisory experience.
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably including oversight of multiple programs, sites, service lines, or managers.
  • Demonstrated experience with operational oversight, including program performance, contracts, budgets, regulatory compliance, billing, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Knowledge of adult community behavioral health systems, recovery-oriented services, intensive community support models, and community-based service coordination.
  • Experience working with payers, documentation, utilization, and performance requirements in publicly funded or managed care environments.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel between service locations as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed in the State of Florida as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor per FS491 preferred.
  • Knowledge of local mental health, substance use, education, juvenile justice, child welfare, court, and other community resources preferred.
  • Experience with diversion, specialty court, family court, forensic, and other justice-involved programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize managers, staff, and program resources to provide quality services within the scope of program contracts and service expectations.
  • Ensure continuity, coordination, and collaboration across assigned diversionary, specialty court, family court, and other related specialty programs.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners to effectively meet the needs of justice-involved programs and support system collaboration across Centerstone’s Florida market.
  • Participate in community meetings, staffing, and other events promoting system collaboration and community behavioral health awareness.
  • Serve as liaison with Program Managers; prepare contract and grant applications, review contracts, and advocate for funding, program, and outcome changes.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards by preparing for audits, monitoring performance outcome measures, overseeing contracts, and providing input on budgets.
  • Provide ongoing leadership, support, and oversight to managers to promote high quality services and strengthen supervisory effectiveness.
  • Organize and conduct staff meetings and training as needed and appropriate.
  • Perform administrative tasks including completing performance appraisals of direct reports, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, and supporting program compliance.
  • Monitor documentation compliance and develop and implement procedures to improve operational and regulatory performance.
